Tips
We know school is expensive and time is tight. We want
to try to help college babysitters pick up some extra cash
for school and other expenses so to get the most from our
site, here are some (hopefully) helpful tips:
(1)
Log in Often:
Search results for sitters
are ranked by the date you last logged in. So, make
sure you log in often to keep your profile near the top of
the search results.
(2)
Keep Your Profile Current:
If there is a change in your class or work schedule, make
sure you update your availability. Also, make sure you
update your profile at the start of each new semester.
 (3)
Express Yourself Entries:
If you feel comfortable, think about
creating a video as a
pre-interview or linking to your MySpace page, blog, web
site, etc. in the "Express Yourself" section on your
profile registration. By
providing extra information about yourself, you are helping
parents see all that you have to offer and why you would be
a good choice. However, this is not required on the site and
you are under no obligation to do so.
(4)
Set Up Your E-mail:
Make sure your e-mail is set
up to receive messages from CollegeSitter.com. We will
contact you via e-mail when someone tries to contact you
from the site.
(5)
Check the Jobs: In
addition to contacting sitters directly, parents may also
post job notices on the site. Be sure to visit the
Job section often to see
what new positions are available.
(6)
Your Privacy: CollegeSitter.com
will not give out your personal e-mail address, phone
number or street address to parents. We want to
protect your privacy and that's why you will only be known
by your username on the site. You are free to share your
contact information if you like. However, we wanted to
make sure it was a decision you made when you felt
comfortable sharing that information with someone else.
(7)
Interview: If it
makes you feel more comfortable, think about suggesting a
public place for an interview with a potential family.
Parks, libraries, or meeting areas are some ideas. If you
get the babysitting job, you can always come over 30 minutes
early to get a tour of the family's house.
